Welcome To The Middle School
I would like to welcome everyone to Hartley Melvin Sanborn Middle School. The Middle School includes grades 5-8 with approximately 190 students and 28 part/full time employees. Our motto this year, "Excellence in Every Endeavor," helps us all understand that we need each other to recognize our full potential.
The mission of our school is to nurture and prepare students to become responsible citizens, equipped to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world. This year our focus areas include:
1. implementing the Iowa Core Curriculum
2. improving reading instruction through the use of ReadAbout for all students and Language!, a targeted reading intervention
3. integrating Google Apps into various areas of instruction

Met Goal - Milk Jugs Enter New Building Phase Thank you for everyone's support in bringing in Milk Jugs. We have met our goal of 428 milk jugs and now we are entering the building phase.
