Corey Ramsey - Middle School Principal
I am in my first year as the principal of HMS Middle School. I am also the district administrator for Special Education and English Language Learners. Prior to HMS, I spent my entire career in the Quad City area where I worked as the head of special education in a large middle school, an educational consultant for an AEA, special education teacher in grades 5-12 at various schools, and as an instructional specialist and online educator for a 4 year university. Much of my teaching career also included coaching football and track at the high highschool level. I received my B.S. at Iowa State University and both of my master's degrees from Western Illinois University.
My wife Lindsey is a teacher at HMS Elementary School, and we have five children: Morgan, Kari, Zachary, Ainsley, and Teagan. We live in Sanborn and our children are HMS students as we believe there is no better place to receive an education than in the HMS Schools! The HMS School District has shown their commitment to education by providing our students new state of the art facilities with some of the best technology available in education. This year, middle school students and staff moved into our new building where collaboration and cross curricular opportunities are abundant!
My philosophy as principal of HMS Middle School is to provide students the most instructional minutes in a school day within the smallest class sizes possible. Our teachers create strong relationships with their students, facilitate engaging lessons, and work endlessly to provide every opportunity necessary to assure every student is successful. I would encourage you to contact me with any questions you might have about HMS Middle School and the people that make it great! You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

Every day is a great day to be a Hawk!
