The high school STEAM students are off and running with their first Engineering Design Process project, Balloon Cars!
Their challenge is to design a car that can travel 15 feet using only balloon power, while building with recycled materials and meeting the project’s criteria and constraints. Students have built their first prototypes and are now working through the iterative process; testing, identifying problems, making changes, and testing again. It’s a great hands-on introduction to engineering and a reminder that the first design doesn’t have to be perfect. The project is a true showcase of real learning happening through problem-solving, redesigning, and improving!
