High Five Friday on Homecoming Week is the absolute BEST way to start the day!!! Thank you to all our high school fall athletes and activity participants for joining us this morning!
CONGRATULATIONS to Kolby Douma and Camryn Wilson on being crowned Homecoming King and Queen at tonight's coronation!
Our high school scientists got to witness matter in action today! Ms. Paulson's Physical Science freshmen completed a phase changes lab, tracking thermal energy as matter transformed from solid to liquid to gas. Students graphed their data and explained why temperature plateaus during state changes.
It's going to be a great week!

On Wednesday, HMS Student Council members volunteered at the Clay County Fair! They helped direct traffic, greeted fairgoers, carried equipment, and stamped hands. It was a great day!

The high school STEAM students are off and running with their first Engineering Design Process project, Balloon Cars!
Their challenge is to design a car that can travel 15 feet using only balloon power, while building with recycled materials and meeting the project’s criteria and constraints. Students have built their first prototypes and are now working through the iterative process; testing, identifying problems, making changes, and testing again. It’s a great hands-on introduction to engineering and a reminder that the first design doesn’t have to be perfect. The project is a true showcase of real learning happening through problem-solving, redesigning, and improving!
